Graeme Gowland’s epic spin off at the MCE Superbike Championships at Oulton Park May, 2012. During practice something didn’t go right for Gowla and the number 81 was spat off his Team WFR Honda. The Fireblade then went scutting off the track closely followed by Graeme. Being a Northerner the Allendale lad got up and [...]

Castle Street Liverpool is ironically where the Titanic was registered. It’s been host to Hollyoaks and spiders. And now the Little Giant Girl visits. This was truly an awesome moment which put the hairs on the back of my neck up. As I took the picture the Little Giant Girl turns to look at me [...]

The Giant Uncle was literally man powered. These fellas had their work cut out for them. Giant Uncle was created by Jean-Luc Courcoult of Royal De Luxe. Although the photo shows the guys leaping to help power the giant, what it doesn’t show is the awesome noise. As they were working the teams would shout to each [...]

Giants in Liverpool… Taken from One Park West roof terrace the Little Giant Girl looks up at us and carries on her way along the Strand, Liverpool. It’s April 2012 and four years after the Liverpool Dockland was invaded by a La Machine’s giant Spider, Royal de Luxe unleash yet more giants on the public. [...]

The Unity Commercial building is based at 20 Chapel Street in Liverpool just down the road from Hotel Indigo. It’s an impressive knobbly glass giant which stands out from the surrounding architecture. Designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) Architects, it stands 64m and was completed in 2007.

Black glass isn’t always needed when you’re doing long exposure. Before you buy your Hoya NDx400 think about having a play with your DSLR at night. Pretty cool shots can be captured with little or effort. This shot was taken at West Kirby marine lake, late on a Sunday night. It was pretty cold and [...]

Architects Broadwaymalyan designed the Mann Island Development. It is loved and hated in Liverpool. I personally thing it’s a great bit of architecture, the sleek black lines and ultra modern look next to the three graces. Others hate the way the view of the three graces in now blocked from the Albert Dock. This the the [...]

Mann Island taken from the Albert Dock. This is where you used to be able to see the Three Graces and now you get some modern architecture. Designed by Broadwaymalyan the Mann Island development consists of three buildings. The original idea to have the fourth grace was scrapped and replaced with these ultra modern buildings. Sitting [...]

The Black Glass club is inhabited by those photographers who’ve done the normal run of the mill photography, and then moved onto the more exotic stuff. High stopper Neutral Density filters (also known as Black Glass because you can’t see through them) are not for the happy snappy generation. For a start you can only [...]
